Japanese Kempo for Beginners

This DVD series provides the first video footage that thoroughly explains every technique of Nihon Kempo.

Nihon Kempo was established by the late Sawayama Sokai Soke in 1932 as a bare hands martial art that has the power of punching and kicking from Atemiwaza, the throws of Nagewaza and the devastating Kansetsudori joint lock techniques of Kumiuchi (grappling).

The training mentality of Kempo is that by wearing safe protective gear for training, many techniques can be practiced at real life speeds. This live action training allows for techniques to be mastered effectively through hands on practice against opponents with full force attacks and throws.

The high quality and value of this active training in Japanese Kempo has been proven time and again as it has been adapted by almost all branches of the Japanese Self Defense Force – who’s first requirement is for effective solutions for severe situations.
